Since opening on July 1, 1950, "Unto These Hills" has been seen by over five million people. - Museum of The Cherokee Indian - renovated in 1998 and combines high-tech wizardry and an extensive artifact collection. - Harrah's Cherokee Casino & Hotel - Western North Carolina's biggest attraction where you can experience 90,000 square feet of 24-hour casino action with over 3,500 video gaming machines, five great restaurants, live entertainment, and more. - Qualla Arts & Crafts Mutual - Established in 1946, and located on US 441 at Drama Road. Serves mainly as a cooperative mutual for 300 Cherokee crafspeople, the facility has a large display area for those interested in historical baskets, masks, pottery, fingerweaving, wood carving and more. Cherokee is located minutes away from the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area of Tennessee. Asheville is only an hour away. In fact, Cherokee is midway between Atlanta, Georgia and Charlotte, North Carolina with easy access to the Qualla Boundary on state-maintained highways.
